In-Person Learning Information

 

 

Welcome Back Students

Hello Wildcat Students and Families! 

School buildings are open on Monday, April 5th for in-person classes!  We are very excited to have some of our students back on campus.  We will be returning to the full day bell schedule for all students, in-person and virtual.  The bell schedule may be found on the Wilson Middle School website or in student google classes. 

Wildcat Student Expectations for In-Person Learning:

The health and safety of our students and staff is a top priority. In order to keep everyone safe, students will be required to:

  • Screen for possible COVID symptoms 
  • Bring their own mask and wear it whenever they are at school (extra masks will be available at school)
  • Adhere to social distancing requirements
  • Wash their hands often 
  • Bring their fully-charged APS-issued Chromebook to class with them every day.  
  • Bring a bottle of water that can be refilled in the touchless bottle refill station. Water fountains are shut down due to safety practices.

 

Parents are required to check their student's temperature before sending them to school.

If students do not have a fever or other symptoms they may attend school.  If your student is exhibiting one or more of the following symptoms, keep them home:

  • fever of more than 100.4 degrees
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • sneezing
  • upset stomach

Call the school office to report your student's absence or enter it on ParentVue.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19, please call the school.

Wilson Morning Arrival Procedures

  • Bus Entry
  • Parent-Drop off 
    • Drop off time is 7:40 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. in the front drive through
    • Before students exit their vehicles, parents will confirm that the student is symptom free.
    • Students must exit vehicles wearing their masks.
  • Late Arrivals
    • Students arriving late enter the school at the front door and report directly to class.

Afternoon Departure Procedures 

  • Students must be picked up promptly by 3:10 p.m.  School is out at 3:05 p.m..

Breakfast and Lunch Meal Guidelines 

  • Breakfast and lunch is available every day or students may bring lunch. 
  • Food may not be delivered or dropped off for students.
  • Masks must be worn unless actively eating.
  • High touch areas in the cafeteria are sanitized throughout meal times by cafeteria and/or custodial staff. 
  • Hand sanitizer is provided throughout the campus & in the cafeteria. 

Student Clothing Choices

  • Wilson MS follows APS dress policy
  • No sagging pants
  • Jeans may have no holes above the knees or the student must wear tights underneath.
  • Shirts should be long enough to show no skin at their midriff
  • Shirts should not be low in the front showing excessive skin

Technology

  • Students that need an APS device will be able to check out through the library.
  • Students will be expected to bring their APS-issued technology devices to school with them every day.
