Performing Arts Program

Beginning Band

Ever wanted to learn how to play an instrument? Then this class is the place for you! Learn how to play one of the following instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, or percussion. No previous musical experience is required, and you will also learn how to read music!

Intermediate Band

This class is primarily for 7th graders who have already taken beginning band. We continue to learn to read music and how to play more difficult music in order to prepare for Advanced Band.

Advanced Band

This class is for students who have taken Beginning Band before, and already know how to play an instrument and read music. The music is more challenging, but also more fun! The Advanced Band gets to go on a few field trips throughout the year, and also plays in many of the Wilson Middle School Assemblies.

Jazz Band

Is open to any student and is taught during Genius Hour.

Orchestra is open to all students interested in learning to play a string instrument, including violin, viola, cello, and bass. Students will develop their musical skills while building confidence, teamwork, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Beginning Orchestra
No previous experience is required! Beginning Orchestra is designed for students who are new to playing a string instrument. Students will learn the fundamentals of their instrument, music reading, ensemble playing, and performance skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Advanced Orchestra
Advanced Orchestra is designed for students who have previous experience playing a string instrument. Students will continue to develop their technique, musicianship, and ensemble skills through more challenging music and performances. This ensemble provides opportunities for students to strengthen their individual skills while contributing to a collaborative and exciting musical experience.
